5.2.3 Eligibility for nomination

Australian and overseas graduates (alumni) of QUT, the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT), Brisbane College of Advanced Education (BCAE), North Brisbane College of Advanced Education (NBCAE), Central Technical College (CTC) and other predecessor institutions are eligible candidates for the awards.

Alumni who have displayed an ongoing high level of achievement in their field and in service to the community are most likely to have a minimum of ten years of career experience. The faculty awards are not designed to reward those who are nearing graduation or who have recently graduated.

However, the QUT Outstanding Young Alumni Award is designed to reward those who are normally 30 years and under.

To be eligible for nomination, alumni do not have to be working in the particular discipline from which they graduated. Previously nominated alumni who were unsuccessful in winning an award may be re-nominated by attaching up-to-date information to the nomination form.

Faculty panels may also elect to reconsider previous nominations and may request updated information to be supplied.
