QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund Committee is a Vice-Chancellor's committee established in accordance with Council Procedure 1 - Committees . QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund Committee is accountable to the Vice-Chancellor for fulfilling the following terms of reference.

Terms of reference

QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund Committee:

  • oversees management of the QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund which supports community projects to address the human needs of those in the community where those needs are not being totally met by their own resources or government assistance;
  • raises money for the QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund from QUT staff members, in the form of payroll deductions or gifts;
  • advises the Vice-Chancellor on an annual basis on appropriate distribution of funds from the QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund.

Membership

  • One member of academic staff nominated by the Vice-Chancellor after receiving expressions of interest
  • One member of professional staff nominated by the Vice-Chancellor after receiving expressions of interest
  • One senior manager with financial expertise nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, as chair

A nominee of the Registrar is Secretary, usually a member of the Committee

Tenure and frequency of meeting

Terms of office are as detailed in section 3 of Council Procedure 1 - Committees .

QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund Committee meets as required.

Reporting

QUT Staff Community Welfare Fund Committee reports to the Vice-Chancellor annually, usually in conjunction with advice on distribution of funds.
