7.3.1 Financial assistance to students This policy should be read in conjunction with the QUT Student Rules and the procedural information provided on the Student Services website. 7.3.1 Financial assistance to studentsCounselling Services (Student Support Services Department) provides student counselling on issues relating to financial well-being and advice on the various types of financial assistance available to students. Details of Australian Government assistance for students (ie Youth Allowance, Austudy and Abstudy) can be found on the Centrelink website . Details of the Government's Commonwealth Learning Scholarship program, and scholarships and assistance provided by QUT, can be found at http://www.scholarships.qut.com . 7.3.2 Student Financial Assistance SchemeQUT's Student Financial Assistance Scheme (SFAS) is a small loans scheme which assists students who are in short term financial hardship. It is administered by the Student Financial Assistance Scheme Committee (see E/7.4 ). Further details on eligibility and application procedures for SFAS loans can be found on the Counselling Services website.
