5.7.3 Eligibility

All staff are eligible to receive the QUT Distinguished Service Medal. Staff may only receive one medal over their career at QUT.

5.7.4 Award

The Award will be made at the discretion of the Vice-Chancellor and President, on recommendation from the staff member's Executive Dean/Institute Director/Head of Division.

Medals will be awarded in numbers as required to recognise eligible staff, but not in such numbers as to devalue the medal's significance.

QUT Distinguished Service Medal(s) will be presented at a suitable University ceremony, for example the Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence or a graduation ceremony. All recipients will be recognised by the awarding of a medal and a certificate which will detail specific reasons for the award.
